Mark Massa is the Managing Principal of Watermark Capital, along with co-founder Kurt Lenz. A former teacher who joined Equitable Advisors in 1983, Mark has developed a financial services practice that focuses on retirement planning for members of 401(a), 403(b), 457(b), and 403(b)(7) plans. Working one-on-one in employer-sponsored markets, Mark strives to provide superior financial services to a diverse client base. He holds his FINRA Series 7, 66 registrations and Life and Health insurance licenses in the states of CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, and VT. Mark has also earned the title of Retirement Benefits Specialist, having completed the Equitable Advisors Tax Sheltered Annuities (TSA) Certification Program, which advanced his technical knowledge of retirement plans as part of the Retirement Benefits Group, a specialized division of Equitable Advisors. In addition, Mark has earned the following financial services designations: The Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified Financial Planner, which enables him to offer his clients more comprehensive advice. Mark is also a member of the Elite Advisors Group (EAG) which is an internal recognition program of Equitable Advisors and is recognized as a Sterling member based on achieving a certain sales production level among all financial professionals within our organizations along with being a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Civically active, Mark supports and sponsors the following local organizations: ASE-Association of State Superintendents, CAPSS-CT Association of Public School Superintendents, CASBO-CT Association of School Business Officials and CT Athletic Directors. A Bates College graduate with a B.S. in Mathematics, Mark resides in Lyme, Connecticut with his wife, Leslie, and two children.
